Player ratings: Manchester United vs Crystal Palace

David de Gea: 5. Saved the penalty but it didn't make a difference as he was off his line. Couldn't do much as the defence in front of him is to blame.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah: 4. One word: Bad. Just looks as if he doesn't possess enough quality to play for the team. Offensively useless, defensively average.

Victor Lindelöf: 2. Poor. Responsible for the first by being too lazy to apply for pressure. Conceded the penalty for the second and didn't do anything to stop the third.

Harry Maguire: 3. Poor positioning for the first goal and didn't defend enough to stop the third.

Paul Pogba: 4. Lost the ball in midfield too many times, leading to dangerous Palace counter-attacks.

Scott McTominay. 3. Was given a defensive role to play, not his primary position. Out of position most of the time.

Daniel James: 3. Primary strength: Speed. Against a Crystal Palace side that sat deep, there wasn't much for him to run and do.

Bruno Fernandes: 5. Off pace like the rest of the team.

Marcus Rashford: 5. Not much to do. Couldn't operate well in the tight space.

Anthony Martial: 5. Average and couldn't make an impact as he was isolated by Brighton surrounding him.

Mason Greenwood for Daniel James (45'): 5. Solksjær realised his mistake and made the switch but Greenwood didn't have the impact he'd have hoped for.

Donny van de Beek for Paul Pogba (67') : 7. Immediate impact and even got a goal on his debut!

Odion Ighalo for Fosu-Mensah (81'): 4. Bought on to bring back the slim chance of revival but was poor. A huge drop-off from his initial performance for the club.
