Manchester United vs Newcastle THRILLER

Manchester United 3 - 2 Newcastle (FT)

It was an intense match for all those watching. Mourinho's team down by 2 within 10 minutes against Newcastle, thanks to major defensive errors mainly caused by Eric Bailly and goals by Kenedy and Muto. This caused a 19th minute substitution which eventually changed the game. Even at the break the score was 0 - 2. But it's the second half performance which is how United should be playing. Exactly the opposite of Mourinho's perspective I'm afraid. With 20 minutes to go and no goals for Mourinho, there was only one option, pile everybody into the box. And the risk paid of big time!

3 goals found the back of the net including a 90th minute goal by superstar Alexis Sanchez. The two other wonder goals were scored by Mata and Martial. Both deserve equal credit for their super strikes. De Gea might have conceded two which he couldn't help but still saved the day by blocking Muto's excellent header to prove his worth.

Thrilling match yes indeed. But far off from a decent overall performance considering the goals conceded although we can  understand why Mourinho was in dire need of a center back. Interstingly, Fred did not get any game time, again! Rashford misses two easy chances, Lukaku too misses a crucial header and Matic missed an open goal, all before the comeback!

But Mourinho proves why he is a world class manager, making all the crucial descisions that go him the win.

But will it save Mourinho's job ?
