First Premier League hat-trick for United since Sir Alex Ferguson era

Manchester United 3 - 0 Sheffield United

It was a fantastic return to Old Trafford with the team fully focused on the game. Manchester United played such exciting football you may have confused them for a different team!

The game started with Sheffield United defending deep and letting Manchester United take care of the possession. Usually, we see boring one-two as they struggle to break the opposition down. But not this time! Fans got to see their dream pairing of Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba and this changed the Manchester United team massively. A side that played with purpose and flair, flicks, and tricks. The first chance of the game was put in the back of the net as Marcus Rashford put in a low, powerful cross that the Martial deflected into the net. The cross came in too fast for the defense to register it before it ended up in the back of the net.

Sheffield United failed to get their heads up. Even after going a goal down no reaction was seen. Manchester United looked to get another goal rather than sit back. They constantly pushed on and on in search of another. They didn't have to wait long before a golden opportunity came their way on a counter-attack. Rashford dribbled up the field before slipping it through to Anthony Martial who returned the favor bypassing the goalkeeper to tee up  Rashford who missed a sitter from just a few yards out. Harry Maguire had a header ruled out as he seemed to push a defender before nodding the ball.

The next goal came when Aaron Wan-Bissaka crossed low to Martial who guided it into the back of the net neatly with a single touch. The whistle for half time blew shortly afterwards.

Manchester United continued to dominate throughout the second half and Anthony Martial put the game to bed with another goal claiming the match ball. A clever one-two with Marcus Rashford fooled the defense and Martial lobbed the ball over the keeper's head.

This was the first time since the Sir Alex Ferguson era that a United player had scored a Premier League hat-trick...

Now its 13 matches unbeaten. 33 scored and just 3 conceded!
