Manchester United work hard to earn draw against Liverpool

Manchester United 1 - 1 Liverpool (FT)

In a fierce encounter which had plenty of drama with VAR intervention finally ended in a one all draw.
Marcus Rashford taps it in!

Manchester United drew first blood on the counter when Scott McTominay released Dan James who put in an inch-perfect cross that our No. 10 had to tap in (35').

Although moments later on the brink of the end of the first half Sadio Mane struck what appeared to be a genuine equiliser that surely got the Liverpool fans out of their seats but was ruled out by VAR which showed the ball had skimmed his hand.

The second-half began with Liverpool on the front foot and Manchester United looking to play on the counter. United withstood plenty of attack while creating a few decent chances but failing to kill off the game. Man United bought on Martial while Klopp also made a few to which in the 85th minute finally paid off after Andrew Robertson's cross found Adam Lallana who was left un-marked at the edge of the 6 yard box.

"At the start Manchester United would be happy with a draw but by the end, Klopp's men will be happy with a point"- Manchester United definitely put up a good performance!

On a more positive note, Martial made a brief substitute appearance after nearly 2 months on the side-lines and this will be crucial in this period as United are playing 4 games in a 10 day period.
