Manchester United beat City rivals in thrilling derby

Manchester City 1 - 2 Manchester United (FT)

Manchester United went into the encounter full of confidence and it was quite the opposite for City who seemed to be lacking concentration. It was a fantastic opening 30 minutes for Man Utd which saw them score twice, hit the crossbar once and create multiple chances. It was first Rashford who won the penalty before scoring it himself. He had another golden opportunity to score moments later on the counter-attack only for him to put his shot wide. It was his chance again but the bar denied him his second. Much to United's relief Anthony Martial clinically squeezed one past Ederson to give themselves a comfortable lead. Much of the match afterwards was spent withstanding City's numerous attacks. In the end they came out winners just conceding once from a corner.

It was a fantastic performance from the whole team which linked up perfectly and played on the same tempo. Marcus Rashford is now 3rd in the race for the golden boot. Can he get there? He's equalled his best year's scoring of 10 with 22 matches still to go! Check out the memorable match highlights:
