Bruno bags brace at Brighton

Brighton and Hove Albion 0 - 3 Manchester United

Ole fielded the same team as the one that beat Sheffield United 3-0 a week ago, exciting fans as hey got to see a dream pair Fernandes and Pogba start together in midfield. And it had truly devastating effects. Pogba and Bruno Fernandes bossed the midfield. Statman Dave tweeted "Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes have spent 219 minutes on the field together. In that time, Man Utd have scored 8 goals and conceded 0". Unbelievable!
Mason Greenwood celebrates after
scoring his goal

The game started off as expected with Manchester United dominating the game. The first chance and goal came in the 16th minute when Mason Greenwood received the ball on the right flank. He dribbled forward with a step over or two and then finished off with a trademark goal into the bottom left corner. It didn't end here.

Moments later, Bruno had a chance to strike but could only hit the pole.  Shorly after though finally made it two, a lucky deflection, but nonetheless another goal for the Reds. Weirdly Luke Shaw was marginally offside in the build-up to the goal yet VAR took no notice of it and the goal stood. Half-time, score: 0-2 United.
Bruno scores his second goal

The next goal came in a rapid counter-attack. In just 10 seconds the ball flew from one end to the other. Mason Greenwood carried it to the other end, then crossing it to Bruno who slammed it for his second. It secured the win for United.

Ole decided to give his crucial players a rest and allow the others some game-time(with half an hour left to play). Bruno and Pogba were hooked off for Andreas and McTominay. Brandon Williams was also given a chance and made an impressive cameo. United seemed to deflate and Brighton took their chances. David de Gea earned his clean sheet as he made three impressive saves to deny Brighton a goal. The game ended 0-3 United.

It was a good performance all-round, extra credits to Nemanja Matic who solidified the defense and allowed the attack to perform. Cause for concern may be Marcus Rashford's recent goal drought. Admittedly he did take 2 assists against Sheffield United but he's recently looked a little tired. We've not seen many trademark runs and his finishing has been poor. Nevertheless Manchester United continues their fine form as they make it 15 games undefeated in all competitions. Bruno continues to excel, involved in 10 goals in his last 13 games.

Man of the Match performance
